The CIBC Women’s Leadership Forum presented by The Players Impact was an inspiring afternoon at TPC Boston during the FM Championship, where leaders, athletes, and changemakers came together for meaningful conversation, powerful networking, and shared inspiration. Throughout the day, attendees explored how ambition, purpose, and leadership drive what’s next in sport, business, and life.

The event was guided by Emcee Tom Abbott, who set the stage and kept the energy high while weaving together thoughtful transitions between each session.

The afternoon opened with the Executive Panel, moderated by Tom Leyden, which brought together leaders from finance, sports, and business operations. Lana McKenna (VP & Chief Risk Officer, CIBC), Katy Shannon (Operations SVP & Chemical Operations Manager, FM), Tracy Deforge (CEO & Founder, The Players Impact), and Jesse Mathewson (COO, Servpro Team TMC) shared their experiences navigating complex industries while driving growth and innovation. They discussed the importance of taking risks, building resilient teams, and creating cultures where women leaders can thrive. Attendees walked away with actionable insights on how leadership requires not just vision, but also the ability to adapt and make bold decisions in times of uncertainty.

The conversation continued with the Athlete Panel featured trailblazing women in sports: Angela Ruggiero, 4x Olympic Gold Medalist and CEO of Sports Innovation Lab; Jen Welter, the first female coach in the NFL and a nationally recognized speaker; and Brittany Lincicome, a 2-time Major Champion and 8-time LPGA Tour Winner. Each shared deeply personal stories about resilience and breaking barriers in their respective careers. Angela spoke to the importance of purpose—how aligning personal passion with professional mission has guided her journey and continues to shape her leadership. Jen shared her groundbreaking path in football and the lessons of perseverance that come with being a pioneer, while Brittany reflected on competing at the highest levels of golf and balancing family with professional success. Together, their insights underscored how purpose-driven leadership and perseverance in sport translate into lessons for business and life.

To close the afternoon, attendees headed to the course for a Putting Clinic led by LPGA Teaching Professionals alongside LPGA athlete Auston Kim. This hands-on session not only gave participants the chance to improve their short game, but also fostered community and connection in a fun and approachable way.

The day was a powerful reminder of the impact women are making across industries and the importance of collaboration in shaping the future of sport and business. We’re proud to have partnered with CIBC and grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating leadership, ambition, and the power of community.
