Director of Sponsorship Sales
As the Director of Sponsorship Sales at The Players Impact, you will play a key role in identifying and acquiring new business opportunities while nurturing and expanding relationships with existing clients. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets, providing excellent customer service, and promoting our services, events, and experiences. This role is ideal for individuals with a proven track record in sales who are eager to take their career to the next level.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Sales Asset Creation: Develop and evolve sales materials, including but not limited to one-pagers, landing pages, social content, presentations, and emails.
- Sales Presentations: Conduct engaging and informative presentations to showcase our products/services, addressing the unique needs and requirements of potential clients.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business objectives and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Sales Targets: Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets, consistently delivering results and contributing to the overall success of the sales team.
- Pipeline Management: Effectively manage and prioritize the sales pipeline, tracking opportunities, and providing regular updates to executive leadership.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify new business opportunities and potential challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing and customer support, to ensure a coordinated and seamless customer experience.
- Reporting: Provide regular and accurate sales reports, detailing progress against targets, key activities, and challenges. Maintain CRM accuracy. Update call counts and targets.
- Customer Feedback: Gather feedback from clients and contribute insights to improve products/services and enhance the overall customer experience.
Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of successful sales experience, preferably in the sports industry.
- Ability to leverage key relationships and contacts immediately.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate the value proposition of our products/services.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to sales.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools is a plus.
- Previous experience managing a marketing or events team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Event Manager
As TPI’s Event Manager, you will own the coordination, project management, and production for all TPI events. This includes sourcing and vetting of vendors, coordination of partners and participants (panelists, sponsors, production partners, etc.), negotiation of rates, and management of the overall TPI live brand experience. You are expected to collaborate with members of the TPI leadership team, including sponsorship, executive functions, and foundation representatives.
Scope & Responsibilities
- Support Business Goals of Events:
- Develop and execute events that increase membership registration (and retention), build membership engagement, and increase revenue
- Manage budget expectations by backing into decisions based on sponsor commitments (help TPI build profitable events through topline support and cost management)
- Manage Event Project and Production:
- Define the event’s objectives, target audience, and scope. Create a detailed event plan and timeline.
- Establish an event budget. Track expenses and manage financial resources. Negotiate with vendors to get the best rates and terms.
- Research and select appropriate venues. Negotiate contracts with venues. Coordinate site visits and logistics.
- Identify and hire vendors (caterers, audio/visual technicians, etc.). Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with vendors. Ensure vendors meet deadlines and deliverables.
- Set up and manage event registration processes. Handle attendee inquiries and communications. Coordinate guest lists and RSVPs.
- Manage event setup and teardown. Oversee on-site operations during the event.
- Plan the event agenda and schedule. Coordinate speakers, panelists, and sponsor activation. Ensure the program runs smoothly and on time.
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans. Maintain balance. Prepare for and handle unexpected issues. Manage staff and volunteers on-site.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with leadership, stakeholders, vendors, venue, athletes, and sponsors.
- Hold regular meetings to update stakeholders on event progress. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Own marketing and promotions of events:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the event.
- Manage social media and email campaigns. Activate panel participants and create sponsorship content.
- Design and distribute sales and marketing materials, including one-pagers and content for website and social channels.
- Support post-event recap for sponsors and leadership team:
- Analyze event success and areas for improvement. Report on event outcomes including budget, engagement, attendance, etc. Maintain detailed records of contracts, communications, and event logistics.
- Develop and Support TPI’s Long-Term Event Strategy:
- Support TPI’s leadership team in our efforts to build a long-term strategy that increases membership of professional athletes and high net worth individuals and generates profit.
- Build relationships with sponsors and vendors to decrease sponsor attrition and to decrease costs by building longer term relationships

- October 2024: TPI Family Office Event in Napa
- November 2024: TPI Networking and Pitch Event in Boston
- December 2024: TPI at Art Basel in Miami
- February 2025: TPI Kick Off 2025 at Super Bowl in New Orleans
Experience and Competencies
- 3-5 years of experience as an Event Coordinator
- Background and interest in marketing, with strong examples of sales materials and social content
- Proactive with strong problem prevention skills
- Calm and collected under pressure
- Highly proficient project manager, with the ability to manage people and tasks to a common goal
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Entrepreneurial problem-solver with interest in personal and professional growth.
- Current relationships with vendors, startups, and professional athletes is preferred.
- Background working with professional athletes is preferred.
